IMPACT Preterm Birth Disparities Award

Sarahn Wheeler, MD, MHSc, a practicing maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Duke University Medical Center, is the inaugural recipient of the IMPACT Preterm Birth Disparities Award for her project REDUCing the Disproportionate RatE of Preterm Birth in non-Hispanic Blacks through a Culturally Relevant Intervention during the Inter-pregnancy Period: REDUCE PTB.

This three-year, $75,000 award, supported in part by Hologic, will provide Dr. Wheeler with funding to enhance existing research or develop new investigations of promising interventions for eliminating birth outcome disparities within underserved communities.
