2026-2029 FSMFM/AAOGF Scholar

We are pleased to announce that Xixi Du Plummer, MD, PhD, has been selected for the 2026-2029 Foundation for SMFM/AAOGF Scholarship for her project entitled, “Transforming Pregnancy Research: A Dual Stem Cell Model to Illuminate the Origins of Preeclampsia.” 

Dr. Plummer is currently a third-year fellow at Stanford University. Her goal is to become an independent investigator focused on combining expertise in maternal-fetal medicine and molecular biology. Specifically, this award will fund her work on developing a novel, patient-specific 3D model of the human maternal-fetal interface using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to investigate placental abnormalities and preeclampsia. Dr. Plummer’s primary co-mentors for this award will be Virginia D. Winn, MD, PhD, and Matteo A. Molè, PhD.
