Supporting research that advances knowledge and innovation

“So much has changed during my career. When I first started, there was no ultrasound – twins were diagnosed either by x-ray in the third trimester or when after delivery of a newborn the uterus was still occupied. Labor and delivery, quite frankly, is not dramatically different – fewer forceps deliveries, but there never will be minimally invasive assisted births – but prenatal care barely resembles the ‘70s. Knowledge and innovation lead to better medical care, and research spurns advances in knowledge and innovation. This is why I support the Foundation for SMFM, and I would strongly urge others to think of the Foundation when contemplating their philanthropic gifts.”
